The Fibroihex series was exhibited in September 2025 at WGP+Moon Art & Books, Toronto, as part of the Bi+ Arts Festival. This project involved hand & machine sewing, felting, pompoms, embroidery, beading, fabric collage, upholstery, and developing a hexagonal variant on circular weaving. A hexagonal booklet was provided about the artworks.
Artist Statement
I’m looking forward to being a Crone, after being queerly excluded from Maidenhood and refusing Motherhood. My body never grew a baby. Instead, it grew hexagons: a cyst (7.1 x 6.3 cm) and a fibroid (8.4 x 7.7 cm), both in the ratio of a hexagon’s width and length. Doctors cut me open, pathologized my creations, and sewed me back up again. Now I am stitching and weaving more hexagons, a resilient structure to stay strong in the face of uncertainty.
